About the Beatles Leaderboard
The Beatles Leaderboard is a free, independent fan project built around a simple idea: every serious Beatles listener has opinions about which songs are the greatest, and those opinions are far more fun when you can see them, sort them, and argue about them. We turned that idea into a tool that lets anyone rank all 200-plus Beatles songs into tiers, fine-tune the order within each tier, and then compare the result against friends and against the wider community.
Why we built it
It started, as these things do, with an argument. Two friends could not agree on whether a particular deep cut belonged anywhere near the top of the catalogue, and a spreadsheet was not cutting it. We wanted something that made ranking feel less like data entry and more like the act of listening it is supposed to be: songs presented one at a time, with audio built in, so you can actually hear what you are judging before you judge it.
What began as a tool for a handful of friends grew into something we wanted to share. The Beatles have one of the richest catalogues in popular music, and there is no single correct ranking of it, which is exactly what makes the question worth asking over and over.
How the rankings work
When you rank, you sort songs into six tiers, from S for the legendary down to F for the ones you would skip, and then you drag songs up or down within each tier to set their exact order. That gives every song a precise position in your personal list without ever asking you to stare at a blank list of two hundred numbered slots.
The global consensus is built by averaging the position each song holds across everyone's personal ranking, so it reflects the community's collective taste rather than any one person's. We also surface the most divisive tracks, the songs where people disagree most strongly, because the disagreements are usually the most interesting part. You can slice the data by album or by songwriter, or put your list head to head with a friend's to find exactly where your tastes diverge.
New here?
If you want to read before you rank, our guides cover everything from a complete album-by-album listening tour to a practical method for ranking the whole catalogue without burning out. If you are brand new to the band, the beginner's guide is the place to start.
Who's behind it
The site is built and maintained by two Beatles fans, Caden Crowson and Logan Gladden. It is a passion project, not a company. The Beatles Leaderboard is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Apple Corps Ltd., Universal Music Group, or any rights holders of the Beatles' music.
